A stack of heavy parts under the felt

Add up the parts of a slate pool table and it is a serious load: felt, rails, a slate bed of 150 to 250 pound slabs, a wood frame and heavy legs. No single person lifts any of that out of a room, and the slate cracks if the whole thing is moved at once. The answer is a careful teardown in the right order. We handle that on every Woodridge table and carry each part out by hand.

Woodridge opens up unlimited household refuse during its October clean-up week, but building materials are excluded and anything outside the cart the rest of the year is capped around 50 pounds. A slate slab is heavier than that limit on its own, so a bolted table was never a curb item. We drive over from Plainfield on I-355 and 75th Street, break the table apart in place, and haul it all in one trip whenever you need it gone.

The felt and rails are removed before any lift, then we take the slate slabs off one by one and lay them flat and safe. With the bed clear, the frame and legs come apart into manageable sections for the stairs or the door. We cover the jambs and watch the treads the whole way out so nothing gets gouged. You get a single load price up front, and it stands through the job with no hourly rate.
