Too heavy for the curb

The reason a pool table defeats most removal plans is sitting right under the felt. Three slate slabs, 150 to 250 pounds apiece, are bolted to a frame that is bolted to the legs. We take the whole thing apart in the proper order, removing the rails and felt, carrying the slate out slab by slab, and breaking down the cabinet and legs so the table leaves the basement in pieces instead of taking a chunk of the wall with it.

We reach Glendale Heights from Plainfield straight up I-355, running same-day when the schedule allows. The local program splits collection days by whether you live east or west of Bloomingdale Road, and anything over 50 pounds will not be removed unless the hauler is notified ahead, with heavy or excessive debris left behind. A slate bed in three slabs is far past that, so a pool table is a crew job.

What we carry out

Three-piece slate

The bed holds most of the weight. We carry the slabs out individually so the edges stay sound.

Rails and felt

Removed first, so the rest of the table comes apart in order.

Frame and legs

The cabinet and legs break into pieces that fit up a basement staircase.

Bar and seating

A game-room bar and its stools can leave with the table on the same load.

Other rec gear

Arcade cabinets, air hockey and old exercise machines come out when the room is being cleared.

Donate and recycle

A table worth saving is offered for reuse, and the metal and lumber are recycled.

How we do it in Glendale Heights

Text a photo and tell us the slate type and we price it before we come out. The crew strips the felt and rails, unbolts and carries the slate, then dismantles the frame and legs. We protect the doorways and stair turns as we go. The price we quote is what you pay, with nothing added at the end.

  • Felt and rails off first
  • Slate carried out slab by slab
  • Cabinet and legs broken down
  • Doorways and stair turns protected
  • Everything loaded and hauled
  • Flat price before we lift
