Piano Removal
in Arlington Heights
The weight is the whole problem, and it is the part we take off your hands. Serving Arlington Heights.
We move the piano, you keep your back
The weight of a piano is the whole problem, because an upright sits at 300 to 500 pounds and a grand is heavier still, nearly all of it in the iron plate and strings bolted inside. That weight rides high in the case, so the piano tips forward the moment it is handled without support. On a staircase, with a borrowed dolly, that is how homes and people get hurt. Our crew brings the right dollies, straps, and padding and carries the piano out for you, top to bottom.
Arlington Heights runs along Route 53 and Northwest Highway with the Metra line through its downtown, and we head straight up I-355 to Route 53, so same-day often works when the schedule allows. Curbside here will schedule white goods, but a piano is not on any curbside list, so the route is no help with one. Text a photo and we will price the whole removal before we arrive.
Pianos we remove in Arlington Heights
Upright pianos
We strap the upright down first, because the iron inside makes it pitch forward as soon as it leans off the casters.
Studio and console uprights
Full-height uprights are top-heavy through a doorway, so we guide them with steady hands on both ends.
Baby grand pianos
The legs and lyre come off, and the case goes out flat on a padded skid, supported the whole way.
Grand pianos
We take a grand down to case and frame and move each piece alone to keep the weight controlled on the stairs.
Player and antique pianos
The player works and dense old wood make these the heaviest uprights, so we plan the route before we lift.
Organs and digital pianos
Console organs, weighted digital pianos, benches, and stands all leave in one load.
How we do it
Send a photo of the piano and the way out, and we quote the whole job flat before we start. At the house we cover the floors and trim, strap the piano to a dolly, and bring it through the doors and down the steps under control. A turn that is too tight gets the piano taken apart rather than forced. The price we quote is the price you pay, by the load, with nothing added at the end.
- Price by the load set before we begin
- Padded dollies and straps always
- Floors, trim, and stairs protected
- Disassembled for tight doors and turns
- All the lifting is our crew's
- Playable pianos donated, rest recycled

Yes. We strap it to a dolly and take each flight under control, and we break it apart if a landing is too tight.
We pad the full path and cover the door frames and stair edges, so the piano leaves without marking anything.
We also cover Rolling Meadows, Palatine, and Schaumburg. Call (815) 240-0735 for the next open day.
